3 Day Itinerary For Portland, Oregon

Here are things to do for trip to Portland,OR for 1 ,2 or 3 days.

Day 1 Itinerary: Visit to Waterfront Park and Pioneer Square located in Portland Downtown area. Hundreds of cherry tree surrounding the WaterFront Park on banks of Willamette River gives you a feeling of early spring even in middle of summer.


There is always something interesting happening in Pioneer Courthouse Square. There are always some events going on and most of them are free. There are food carts located here, serving diverse array of food.

Lan Su Chinese Garden is also located in same vicinity as Waterfront Park. A beautiful oasis in the middle of the city. However entry and parking is slightly on the expensive side and dogs are not allowed there.




Drop by at Powell's City of Books located on same side of the town. It is called City of Books for a reason. It is as big as a city and you need a map to browse it.


Day 2 Itinerary: Visit Hoyt Arboretum and World Forestry Center. Both these places has amazing variety of trees from around the world. World Forestry Center has museum which is great for kids to visit. Do not forget to take a trip in Portland Aerial Tram. It is a unique experience to commute in the city from 3300 feet above.

International Rose Test Garden and Japanese Garden in same vicinity as World Forestry Center. Another natural Gem in the middle of the city

If you are travelling with kids, you must visit Oregon Zoo. It has one of the biggest collection of animals around the world and you can see them in their natural habitat.

Forest Park

Day 3 Itinerary:

Visit Mr. Tabor Park for some of the city's nicest views. You can see surrounding mountains and city from a height. City's two main reservoirs are located here. During summer months you can enjoy free music concerts here.
If you are in town on a Saturday, then Portland Saturday Market is worth the visit.

Visit The Shanghai Tunnels also known as the Portland Underground.  There are tunnels running underneath Old Town/Chinatown. There are many downtown hotels and bars here and it goes all the way up to WaterFront Park on Willamette River.
